What is gail marquis?

Gail Marquis is a former American basketball player who competed in the 1976 Summer Olympics. She was born on March 17, 1958 in Queens, New York. Marquis played collegiately at Queens College, where she was a standout player and helped lead her team to a national championship in 1973.

In 1976, Marquis was a member of the U.S. women's basketball team that won the silver medal at the Olympic Games in Montreal. She was a key player on the team and her performance was instrumental in their success. Marquis later went on to play for the New York Stars in the Women's Professional Basketball League (WBL).

Marquis was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014 in recognition of her contributions to the sport. She has also been an advocate for gender equality and has worked to promote women's sports and empower young female athletes.
